The launch of the Jordan Fly Wade 2 is a pretty big deal for Jordan Brand seeing that their marquee athlete in Dwayne Wade will be wearing the shoe this coming NBA season. To celebrate the release of his new sneaker with Jordan Brand, the Miami Heat star took over South Beach where the night was partied away. Guests at the Jordan Fly Wade 2 launch party included Cash Money’s DJ Khaled, former Heat great Alonzo Mourning and the man of the night, Dwyane Wade. Following the VMAs this past Sunday night, Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter IV released at Midnight and a release party was held following the awards show to commemorate it. Guests in attendance included fellow Young Money artists Nicki Minaj, Drake, Tyga and Lil Twist, cast members of Jersey Shore and Rick Ross just to name a few. G.O.O.D Music artist, Big Sean will finally release his debut album Finally Famous on June 28th and is something that the Detroit native strived for since auditioning for Kanye West at a Detroit radio station in 2005. The album listening party was held on June 7th at the Standard Hotel in NYC. Joined by Kid Cudi, Angie Martinez, Pusha T, DJ Khaled, Kevin Liles, Swizz Beatz and Selita Ebanks just to name a few of the many guests in attendance, Big Sean got teary-eyed when introducing his album which has been delayed multiple times. Kanye West, who was fashionably late, was quoted as saying that “Sean’s story is one of the best ever because he literally got signed off of a freestyle” and told the crowd “he (Sean) has the potential to be one of the biggest artists in the world.”

This past weekend at the New Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ, hip-hop’s biggest stars gathered for Hot 97′s 2011 Summer Jam concert. Among the performers in attendance were Wiz Khalifa, Swizz Beatz, Rick Ross, DJ Khaled, Lloyd Banks, Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, Prodigy of Mobb Deep, Diddy and Ryan Leslie just to name a few. Peter Rosenberg, Cipha Sounds, Miss Info and Angie Martinez were among those on hand to give a live look into the show. The speakers at the stadium blasted the hottest singles like Wiz Khalifa’s “Black and Yellow”, Lil Wayne’s “6’7′”, Lloyd Banks’ “Start It Up”, DJ Khaled’s “I’m On One” and Meek Mill’s “Tupac Back” for another solid and successful Summer Jam.
In addition to the music, there wasn’t a shortage of sneaker heat. Jordan Brand was well represented at the event with Wiz Khalifa wearing the Air Jordan VI ‘Infrared’ Air Jordan XII Low ‘Black Patent, Big Sean with the Air Jordan IV ‘Cool Grey’ and Havoc and Jadakiss with the Air Jordan III ‘True Blue’. DMV native Wale broke out the Nike Air Foamposite Pro ‘Retro’ and Nike Air Max LeBron VII ‘HWC’, Tyga donned a classic in the Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star and Harlem rapper Cam’Ron sported the Air Max JR ‘Neon’. Swizz Beatz represented for Reebok with the revamped Kamikaze. Diddy and Pusha T were among the few who sported sneakers from high end brands like Gucci and Louis Vuitton.
